A complete kit to build a complete car

The Chesil Heritage-Speedster has been developed over decades, not just as a kit, but as a turn key factory car. Everything we use to build a car at the factory you will find in our kits. It is either new or refurbished to a factory standard.  Since taking over the business we have reverse engineered four vehicles ranging from 2008 through to 2021 so that we have captured every component and understood how the car has developed. 

We have also brought our own experience of building usable, reliable cars making changes to both the quality of the parts but also production methods to make sure the car is as easy to assemble as possible. Our new build manual is just as comprehensive. All you need to bring to the job is your time and tool kit.


Module 1 - Donor Components - £4,995

We will source a correct era VW Beetle with a valid DVLA identity. It will be stripped and all the necessary donor components will be factory reconditioned. The chassis will be shot-blasted, shortened and reconditioned before being painted with black chassis paint.  All necessary modifications that are required to make the donor components bolt directly to the Chesil Speedster body will be made.

Module 2 - Chassis Components​ - £4,995

 All new suspension components, brakes, wheels, fastenings and cables required to build your donor components into a rolling chassis. This module will leave you ready to mount your engine/gearbox and Heritage-Speedster body

Module 3 - Drive Train - £13,995

There are two engine options. Both are built brand new to our specification. The gearboxes are fully reconditioned and built to our own high ratio specification. This module includes the complete fuel system.

Module 5 - Interior and Completion Kit - £12,995

​ All of the components you need to complete the home build of your Speedster, including an interior trim all  interior components,  bright work, glass, switch gear and electrics. Chesil Heritage-Speedster kits have been designed to work together.

Module 4 - Body Shell - £19,995

 The Chesil Speedster is world renowned for being one of the most accurate and best quality 356 Speedster shells. The glass fibre bodies are supplied prepared and painted to your taste, with bumpers and fixings.

When committing to a complete kit from the start of the order you will benefit from a £2,980 discount on the total price.  All modules need to be paid for and delivered within 6 months of Module 1 being ready to ship. We will also give you a discount code to use in our parts store for the first 24 months of ownership
